Urgent request for help ref: L2711

NARA`s aim is to provide the most effective medical equipment into the home to allow patients to improve their quality of life and help both the patient, their families and carers do those things most of us take for granted.  For parents of a baby or youngster with apnoea it can be a good night`s sleep, knowing an alarm will sound if their baby or child stops breathing.  To an asthmatic it is the delivery of relieving drugs to help them breathe.
Our list grows daily, we are desperately trying to help two more babies.

A toddler`s parents have contacted the charity to assist them with two  nebulisers to assist their little boy who suffers severe asthma and eczema.  His asthma requires him to have numerous nebulisations a day because the tiny airways in his lungs become clogged with sticky mucus and phlegm.             Preventative and  relief medicines are required regularly to enable this little boy to breathe.   Both a mains and portable machine are required.

We have a need for a specialist portable nebuliser to assist a young pre-school girl who suffers cystic fibrosis.  Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition which significantly affects the respiratory system.   Medicines and antibiotics   delivered through a nebuliser are used to control inflammation and infection.  Breathing  exercises and physiotherapy on a daily basis help to prevent a build up of sticky mucus in the lungs. The portable nebuliser is required to give this youngster the ability to have the freedom to attend pre school and have an existence away from the home.
