Urgent request for help ref: 2411

NARA`s aim is to provide the most effective medical equipment into the home to allow patients to improve their quality of life and help both the patient, their families and carers do those things most of us take for granted.  For parents of a baby or youngster with apnoea it can be a good night`s sleep, knowing an alarm will sound if their baby or child stops breathing.
Our list grows daily, we are desperately trying to help two more babies and their worried parents with equipment.

We have a baby girl, 11 weeks old.  After leaving hospital with her mother she was, like many, a completely `normal` baby.   After a few weeks at home, she suffered a number apnoea episodes (cessation of breathing) for no apparent reason.  Her worried parents now keep a vigil over her cot to make sure she doesn`t do it again.  We urgently need to supply them with a monitor.

The second baby needing our help was born at Christmastime last year.  He has been identified by his GP as needing a special data monitor to record his breathing, ECG (heart), and saturation levels (blood oxygen).  This is because he has had many apnoea episodes.  These occur for no apparent reason and the GP wishes to identify the cause as soon as possible so relevant medicines and treatment can be given. As you can imagine time is of the essence.
